ABOUT US.

In collaboration with the US Department of Homeland Security, MED-1 Partners LLC was founded in 2004 with the goal of creating and building the prototype of a mobile hospital that would provide the highest level of hospital care, i.e., level IV care or trauma. This mobile hospital was designed to address emergencies, natural disasters, increase hospital capacity and replace physical hospitals under renovation. It is a unique project in the world, patented and entirely manufactured in the United States.

MED-1 mobile hospitals have proven their effectiveness through the following successful deployments:

​

• During Hurricane Katrina (September 2 through October 14, 2005), more than 7,500 patients were treated and more than 500 surgeries were performed.
   

• In New Orleans (February 22 through March 7, 2006), hospital support was provided for LSU during Mardi Gras, treating more than 575 patients.
   

• During the floods in Columbus, Indiana (summer of 2008), the Columbus Regional Hospital was replaced and more than 2,500 patients were treated.

In April 2011, the Ecuadorian government acquired 2 MED-1 mobile hospitals to replace hospitals under renovation and to deal with natural disasters. Since their arrival they have replaced more than 12 hospitals. They are currently located in Pedernales and Alausí. During the 2016 earthquake, 1,500 patients were treated and more than 250 trauma surgeries were performed.

 

To date, the 2 mobile hospitals have treated more than 5 million patients and performed more than 65,000 surgeries. In September 2017, thanks to their outstanding performance, the MED-1 mobile hospitals obtained EMT level II certification by PAHO - WHO: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rTsD8B-vueA

 

In 2018 MED-1 Partners LLC founded MED-1 Latam, LLC to serve the Latin American market and offer its broad portfolio of specialized vehicles, including mobile hospitals, mobile clinics and Type I and Type II ambulances with federal KKK 1822 F certification, becoming exclusive distributors for Ecuador of WHEELED COACH in 2023.

In 2023 MED-1 LATAM LLC enters the Fire and Rescue industry, with the exclusive representation for Ecuador of the following brands: LAFE SECURITY, SKEDCO, AJAX TOOLS y HYPERSIGHT.
